Forbidden Synthesis Race Recap - Round 1 Lourdes DH World Cup

Time to decompress after our first ever round in the UCI World Cup DH. Here’s a recap of everything that went down:

TRACK WALK

.

Day one consisted of the boys getting familiar with the rough and rowdy lines that Lourdes had on offer.

RACING

Conditions couldn’t have been better for qualifying. Connor and Magnus put down solid runs and ended the day in p23 and p69 respectively.

FINALS

Conner strapped in for a thrilling final run aboard his Dreadnought, and in true Connor fashion rowdy sections paired with blistering corner speeds made for one heck of a show for viewers across the globe. Here’s what he had to say about the run:

I had such an awesome weekend here in Lourdes. Lovin’ the new @forbiddenbikecompany setup and doing a race run with that French crowd was pretty special! A bit salty at myself for my race run, I felt so confident in the gate but just didn’t put it together and ended up with the same time as I got in qualifying. Anyway, not a bad start to the season sliding into the top 30 on the stock Dreadnought with 154mm of travel 😎” - Connor Fearon

The boys now have an extended seven-week break, before heading back to Europe for  Round 2 at the infamous Fort William track in Scotland on May 23rd. We can hardly wait… See you all there.

THE RIDES

PINKBIKE BIKE CHECKS

Connor's Gone Ziggy.

Connor opted for the flashy Deep Space 9 Dreadnought with a stock ‘Ziggy’ Rate Control Linkage for his mixed wheel set up. His bike is equipped with a 180mm Boxxer upfront. Oh, and of course, he’s sporting flat pedals…

STEALTH AND RED ARE FAST.

Magnus opted for the murdered out Stealth Dreadnought sporting some patriotic hits of red. His bike has a 190mm Boxxer and custom, team only, Rate Control Linkage to increase the rear travel.
